All our products are produced locally, unlike most make-up these days that is made in China or Italy to save costs. Where we never will.
The Glow & Go Sets are produced with sugar cane packaging. This innovative solution to plastic waste is biodegradable and renewable.
Unlike petroleum-based plastics, which are finite and non-renewable, sugar cane can be regrown and harvested repeatedly, making it a more sustainable choice.
The best part of the packaging is that it is produced from the by-product of sugar cane processing, therefore there are no unnecessary forests chopped down, and no resources are mined specifically for the production of sugar cane packaging.
Another aspect that we are very proud of at Violet Jordan is that all of our products are cruelty free. We are opposed to all forms of animal testing and ensure no animal testing is carried out on our products. There have also been intensive steps taken to ensure that our suppliers do not associate with any actions that oppose our view.
Vegan and cruelty free are commonly interlinked but have two different meanings:
- When a product is stamped as vegan it brings focus to the ingredients, stipulating that it will not include any animal products such as bovine gelatine, animal fat, beeswax, etc.
- In comparison to cruelty free stating that no animal was used or harmed during the testing phase of the product.
Lanolin oil is extracted by putting sheep’s wool through a centrifuge machine that separates the oil from other chemicals and debris. The process is performed after the sheep is sheared so the extraction of lanolin causes no harm to sheep. A huge benefit of using lanolin is based on the fact that it can hold twice its weight in water, which can plump skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
